We operate as a not-for-profit incorporated under the NT Associations Act, and are proud to be a community-led organisation deeply connected to country, culture and community.

Deliver civil works and infrastructure that support remote communities
Strengthen local governance, capacity and decision-making
Build an independent, self-determined future for our people
Business and Services
Murin delivers essential services that respond directly to the needs of Aboriginal people living in Wadeye and the wider Thamarrurr region. Our operations are designed to reach across language groups, support local decision-making, and enable families to live safely on country.
Passenger Transport
Murin operates regular air and bus services between Darwin and Wadeye, providing safe and reliable travel for families, workers and service providers.
Freight and Logistics
We manage critical freight services by road and barge, supporting supply chains to Wadeye and surrounding communities, including during the Wet Season when road access is limited.
Our civil team undertakes road grading, housing subdivisions, and airstrip upgrades across the region, employing and training local workers in the process.
Homelands Support
We deliver funded essential services and infrastructure to Homelands, including water, power, housing maintenance and refurbishments. We also work closely with Traditional Owners to plan and prioritise service delivery.
Community Development
Murin supports community priorities through place-based initiatives and partnerships—helping to build local governance, business capacity, and long-term planning frameworks.
Through targeted roles and partnerships, Murin creates real jobs for Aboriginal people and supports pathways to long-term employment, particularly in transport, freight, civil works, and homelands services.
Benevolent Fund
Murin manages a Benevolent Fund to support community members facing hardship. Assistance covers emergency travel, freight, health costs, funerals, cultural obligations, and family wellbeing. Wherever possible, Murin partners with local Aboriginal organisations to deliver support collaboratively and maximise impact.
Everything we do is focused on creating opportunities for local people to lead, work and live with pride and purpose in the Thamarrurr region.
