Who we are
Our Story
Murin Association Incorporated is an Aboriginal-owned and governed organisation based in Wadeye of the Northern Territory. Established in 1973, Murin has grown from humble beginnings into a respected and diverse regional organisation providing services across the Thamarrurr Region.
Founded through the leadership and vision of local elders, Murin was created to ensure essential access to Wadeye by air when services were being withdrawn. Using funds contributed by the community, the organisation secured continued flight access—marking the beginning of what would become a long-standing commitment to delivering services by and for Aboriginal people.
Our Business
We are a commercially strong, Aboriginal-owned organisation, generating the majority of our revenue through our own businesses, which enables us to invest back into community priorities.
Our History
