Over a course of 2 days, in June 2021, Beau, Derice, Sylvanus and Henry each participated and completed a traffic management course through Charles Darwin University, Darwin NT.

Memories from the day

Day one

Day one consisted of the participants completing the RIIWHS205E Control Traffic with a Stop-Slow bat.


This included:

  • Theory & written assessment
  • How to prepare, check and load signs required following a TGS
  • How to use handheld radios
  • How to identify and control hazards when setting out and conducting traffic management with a stop/slow bat

Day two

Day two involved the participants completing the RIIWHS302E Implement Traffic Management Plan. 


This included:

  • Theory & written assessment
  • How to identify, prepare, check and set out signs required following a TGS
  • How to identify and control hazards when setting out traffic management signs
  • How to identify factors that could affect the TGS
